Name: IMPAC-T future river discharge projection Author: Cherry May Mateo Contact: cherry.mateo@gmai.com Brief History 2013/08/15 Trial and initial calculation 2013/08/17 Finished runoff and discharge calculations for 16 GCM-RCPs for time period 2080-2099 2013/08/19 Files converted to NET-CDF format 2013/09/04 Received IDD v2.1, the revised forcing data 2013/09/19 Finished revised runoff and discharge calculations for 19 GCM-RCPs for time period 2040-2059 and 18 GCM-RCPs for time period 2080-2099 (cae2 had problems for the time period 2080-2099) 2013/09/21 Files converted to NET-CDF format 2014/01/20 Update: Evapotranspiration data also converted to NET-CDF format and uploaded in "IMPACT_NC_EVAP" folder. H08 settings are the same as in total runoff and river discharge. Method in brief I have used the meteorological (met), land (lnd), and river (riv) modules of H08. I have used the IMPAC-T Driving Dataset (IDD) prepared by Dr. Watanabe The following land parameters have been used: Soil Depth (SD) - 3.50 Gamma - 2.30 Tau - 155.0 Bulk transfer coeff - 0.007 Files in brief - 'dis' is short for river discharge; 'qtot' is short for total runoff - update: 'evap' in IMPACT_NC_EVAP folder is short for evapotranspiration - unit for discharge is kg(s-1); unit for both runoff and evapotranspiration is kg(m-2)(s-1) - monthly interval for the time periods a) 1981-2004: baseline simulation; b) 2040-2059: near future prediction; and c) 2080-2099: far future prediction Nomenclature of folders based on IDD file nomenclature from Dr. Watanabe (information in parentheses indicate file nomenclature specific to the RCP scenarios) bc1m ia bcc-csm1-1-m (bc14 for RCP 4.5; bc18 for RCP 8.5) cae2 CanESM2 (ce24 for RCP 4.5; ce28 for RCP 8.5, available for 2040-2059 only) cnc5 CNRM-CM5 (cc54 for RCP 4.5; cc58 for RCP 8.5) cs36 CSIRO-Mk3.6 (cs64 for RCP 4.5; cs68 for RCP 8.5) ge2m GFDL-ESM2M (ge24 for RCP 4.5; ge28 for RCP 8.5) inc4 INM-CM4 (in44 for RCP 4.5; in48 for RCP 8.5) ip5l IPSL-CM5A-LR (ip54 for RCP 4.5; ip58 for RCP 8.5) mir5 MIROC5 (m542 for RCP 4.5; m582 for RCP 8.5) mrc3 MRI-GCM3 (mc34 for RCP 4.5; mc38 for RCP 8.5) hg2e HadGEM2-ES (hg28 for RCP 8.5) BASE baseline simulation using T12 dataset from Kotsuki-san and Tanaka-sensei. Filenames start with "T12_LR25". To compare baseline simulation with GCM simulation results, use years 1981-1999 (19 years, as I do not have the complete meteorological dataset for 1980). Caveats - Due to technical problems, the calculaiton of HadGEM2 for RCP 4.5 scenarioand CanESM2 for RCP 8.5 for time period 2080-2099 were postponed - Simulation results of IDD v2.0 (found to have very high precipitation which was appropriately corrected in IDD v2.1 by Dr. Watanabe) is archived in IMPACT_NC_v2.0 folder
